Campaign
Operation: Boreal Sentinel
At 04:00 hours on the 28th of February 2026, a highly coordinated armed uprising commenced across Napf Island, a sovereign territory of Finland within the European Federation. A militant group identifying itself as the "Napf People's Front" (NPF) has seized control of critical infrastructure, effectively cutting the island off from mainland communications and transport. While the NPF claims to be an organic civilian militia seeking independence, intelligence assesses that the group is a proxy force armed, funded, and directed by Fortress Russia to destabilise the European Federation's northern flank. The NPF has heavily leveraged the island's significant ethnic Russian demographic and established martial law in the northern population centres. Deploying regular European Federation armies carries an unacceptable risk of escalating the conflict into a direct conventional war with Fortress Russia. Consequently, USEC High Command has ordered an immediate deployment to Napf Island in order to neutralise the NPF and restore sovereign control. Deployed USEC forces will initially stage on the secure offshore islands before pushing onto the 20.4 by 20.4 kilometre main landmass to secure a permanent base of operations.
